Straight out of college, I joined the rat race, working in the fashion industry in New York City.
After a while, I quit my job and started my own business, investing an embarrassing amount in mentors to "make" it, working even more than I had in my fashion days. When I was asked about my weekend on Monday's, I couldn't even remember what I did.
I was successful on paper, traveling, making friends, doing cool stuff. My body was physically there, but my mind wasn't. I felt like I was gaining too much momentum on my hamster wheel, seconds before I'd violently be thrown off.
One of my favorite qualities about myself has always been my playfulness and curiosity - and somewhere along the way I had completely lost them.
